Answers Up Front
Questions Before You Submit?
Here are a few quick answers about how this page works and what to expect after you fill out the form.
Here is a simple breakdown:
Consultation
- Best when you need professional guidance before pricing is finalized.
- A consultation helps us understand the problem, answer questions, and determine whether we can solve the issue you are dealing with.
- This is often the right starting point if you are unsure about the best solution, the right materials, or the scope of work needed.
- Phone consultations can often be handled by one of our more specialized estimators or a project manager, depending on the project type.
- For example, if your project involves something more specialized, like drainage solutions or landscape lighting, we try to connect you with someone who understands that service well.
Estimate
- An estimate is a preliminary price range based on the details you provide.
- We often provide preliminary estimates before planning a property visit.
- Estimates may be based on your description, photos, rough measurements, and the type of work you are requesting.
- This is usually best when you already know what you want and need help understanding the likely price range.
- For simpler projects, such as sod installation or standard landscape bed work, basic measurements can often be handled by our general landscaping estimators.
- These team members are trained to measure straightforward areas and answer standard landscaping questions.
Quote
- A quote is a written project price once the scope and important details are clear enough to price properly.
- Quotes are typically prepared after we understand the size of the project, the services needed, site conditions, and the materials involved.
- This is the next step once the project has been clearly defined.
- In other words, an estimate gives you a starting range, while a quote is prepared when there is enough confirmed information to price the work more accurately.
Design
- A design is usually the best starting point when you want landscape work done but do not yet know what you want.
- We currently offer simple 2D designs, which can help you visualize layout ideas and decide on a direction before moving into pricing.
- These simple design services typically range from $99 to $299.
- If a project is more involved or requires advanced planning, we may refer you to a landscape designer.
- More complex professional landscape design services often start around $1,500 or more.
How We Help You Decide
- Not every customer needs the same first step.
- Some people start with a quick phone consultation.
- Some need a basic estimate for a straightforward project.
- Some need an on-site consultation for a more specialized service.
- Others need a design first because they are still figuring out what they want.
- Once we understand your goals, site conditions, and questions, we help determine the best plan of action before moving forward.
Once you submit a request, we start by reviewing your project details to make sure we’re the right fit and that we can provide an accurate solution.
Step 1: Initial review and follow‑up We’ll reach out to ask a few questions about what you’re looking to do.
Depending on the project, we may also request photos or additional details. This helps us understand the scope, identify potential challenges, and avoid unnecessary site visits when they’re not needed.
Step 2: Estimate preparation If it looks like a good fit, we’ll prepare an estimate based on the information gathered.
In many cases, we can provide a preliminary estimate before an on‑site visit. For more complex projects, we may schedule a site evaluation to confirm measurements, drainage conditions, or layout considerations.
Step 3: Review and approval We’ll go over the estimate with you by phone or in person, answer any questions, and make sure everything is clear.
If you decide to move forward, the estimate is converted into a formal quote and service agreement.
Step 4: Deposit and scheduling To reserve your project, a 50% deposit is required.
Deposits can be paid online or arranged by check or cash if preferred. Once the agreement is signed and the deposit is received, we coordinate with our vendors and project team to confirm material availability, set a start date, and provide an estimated completion timeline.
We follow this process to ensure every project is properly planned, accurately priced, and realistically scheduled — for both you and our team.

Because asking the right questions upfront allows us to give you accurate advice, realistic pricing, and the right level of on‑site evaluation — not guesses.
Not every project requires the same type of visit.
Some jobs only require basic measurements, while others require deeper troubleshooting for drainage, grading, or layout challenges. By asking questions and reviewing photos first, we can determine what’s actually needed and avoid unnecessary visits that don’t add value to your project.
This step also helps confirm that:
- We can solve the problem you’re experiencing
- The scope of work is clearly understood
- Your expectations and budget are aligned before moving forward
We respect your time, and we also plan our site visits carefully.
Gathering details in advance ensures that, when we do schedule a visit, it’s productive and efficient, and it leads to a clear plan—not a second appointment to “figure things out.”
In short, the upfront questions help us do things right the first time and provide you with a better overall experience.

In many cases, yes — but it depends on the type of project and the level of detail needed to price it correctly.
For straightforward work, we can often provide a preliminary price range after a phone consultation and a review of photos.
This gives you a realistic starting point and helps determine whether the project makes sense to move forward before scheduling an on‑site visit.
For more complex projects — such as drainage issues, grading, or multi‑service installations — an in‑person evaluation is usually required. These situations often involve conditions that can’t be accurately assessed without seeing the property, taking measurements, and identifying site‑specific challenges.
Our goal is not to give fast guesses. It’s to provide pricing that reflects the actual scope of work and avoids surprises later. That’s why we match the level of evaluation to the project, rather than using a one‑size‑fits‑all approach.
If a ballpark estimate is possible, we’ll tell you. If an on‑site visit is needed, we’ll explain why before scheduling anything.

In many cases, no, you do not need to be home.
For projects that only require standard measurements or visual evaluation of lawn areas, beds, or hardscape locations, we can often complete the site visit without you present. This allows us to move quickly and schedule evaluations more efficiently.
For more complex projects—such as drainage troubleshooting, layout changes, or situations where design decisions need to be made—we may recommend that you be present so we can walk the property together, discuss options, and answer questions on the spot.
We’ll let you know in advance which type of visit makes the most sense for your project so expectations are clear and your time isn’t wasted.
