Retaining Wall Workmanship Warranty Terms

This warranty applies to qualifying retaining wall installations completed by San Antonio Landscaping Services. It explains the limited workmanship coverage included with retaining wall work, the limitations that apply to soil and drainage conditions, customer responsibilities, and the process for reporting a concern.

Warranty Coverage Period

San Antonio Landscaping Services provides a 1-year limited workmanship warranty for retaining wall installation work performed by our team. The warranty begins on the installation completion date shown on the final invoice.

This warranty applies only to the retaining wall work, wall components, and wall drainage items included in the approved written scope. It does not apply to pre-existing walls, adjacent structures, existing drainage issues, soil conditions outside the work area, or work performed by others.

Not a Structural or Engineering Warranty

This warranty is a workmanship warranty, not a structural engineering warranty. Engineering, permits, structural calculations, soil testing, reinforcement design, drainage design, and surcharge analysis are included only when specifically listed in the written estimate or invoice.

Some retaining walls may require engineering, permits, special drainage, geogrid, reinforcement, or additional site preparation depending on height, location, slope, surcharge, soil, and local requirements. If those services are not included in the written scope, they are not included in this warranty.

What May Be Covered

Covered workmanship items may include installation defects in retaining wall work performed by San Antonio Landscaping Services.

  • Wall construction or installation defects caused by our workmanship
  • Base preparation defects directly caused by our installation work
  • Material placement, alignment, or layout issues that do not match the approved written scope
  • Workmanship-related failure of wall components installed by our team
  • Drainage components behind or through the wall when those components were included in the written scope and the issue is caused by our installation work

If a covered workmanship defect is confirmed during the warranty period, San Antonio Landscaping Services will determine the appropriate repair or correction for the affected work.

What Is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover natural settling, soil movement, expansive soil, erosion, slope movement, hydrostatic pressure, poor or changing drainage conditions outside our scope, surcharge loads, added structures, added soil, added hardscape, vehicle loads, tree roots, irrigation leaks, utility work, excavation by others, impacts, misuse, vandalism, extreme weather, flooding, freezes, acts of nature, or pre-existing site conditions.

The warranty does not cover leaning, cracking, separation, movement, or failure caused by conditions outside the approved written scope. It also does not cover work that was recommended but declined, hidden site conditions, or additional work needed to correct drainage, grading, soil, structural, or engineering issues not included in the original project.

Customer Responsibilities

To maintain warranty eligibility, customers must avoid adding surcharge loads behind or above the wall, avoid changing drainage patterns toward the wall, keep weep holes or drainage outlets clear when applicable, avoid irrigation leaks near the wall, and contact San Antonio Landscaping Services before allowing third-party work that may disturb the wall, base, backfill, drainage, or surrounding grade.

Customers should report concerns promptly and provide photos or video as soon as movement, separation, drainage problems, or other visible concerns are noticed.

How to File a Warranty Claim

To file a warranty claim, contact San Antonio Landscaping Services by phone at (210) 625-6438 or by email at [email protected].

Please provide your name and property address, the installation completion date from your invoice, photos or video of the concern, and a brief description of when the issue first appeared and whether any changes, storms, irrigation issues, or third-party work occurred after installation.

San Antonio Landscaping Services will review the documentation and may schedule an inspection if needed. If the issue is covered, we will explain the repair plan. If the issue is not covered or requires additional scope, we can provide a repair estimate or change order.

If a reported issue is found not to be covered under this warranty, a service call fee may apply. The fee will be disclosed before scheduling non-covered work.

Limits, Conditions, and Exclusions

Remedies for workmanship claims are limited to repair or correction of the covered defect. San Antonio Landscaping Services is not liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages, including loss of use, damage caused by outside conditions, or work performed by others.

Total liability will never exceed the original installation price paid for the affected retaining wall scope. Warranties are non-transferable unless stated otherwise on the invoice. Warranty coverage begins on the installation completion date and may be suspended if the customer’s account is not current.

San Antonio Landscaping Services reserves the right to determine whether a retaining wall concern is a covered workmanship defect, an excluded site condition, a maintenance issue, or additional work outside the original scope.
